Weekend kahwin-kahwin.

Eversince i turned 21, i have been receiving soooo many wedding invitations. Up to now dah lost track. From social network to primary school to secondary school to ITE to Polytechnic friends. And this week, i’ve attended 3 weddings. My second cousin’s, my best guy friend & my fiancè’s cousin. Fuh! Penat raya belum hilang lagi eh ni dah start orang kahwin-kahwin lah pulok. When was the last time that i managed to lepak at home during weekends? Bleargh. Kalau nak tak pergi nanti my mum will always say “Biar nanti kau kahwin takde orang datang”. Iyo lah Ma..

So, since i am still deciding on venue to do my wedding, i have to rajin rajin kan diri lah ikot my parents pergi wedding. Yesterday, we went to D’Pelangi at East Coast for my second cousin’s wedding. The food was erm.. so-so only. Boleh lah.. biasa je.. nothing great or wow. With the price that they quote, im sure i can get even more delicious food elsewhere at even a cheaper price. No offence, lain tekak lain rasa. D’Pelangi is just not up to my taste.

Anyways, after the wedding, my fiancè came & fetched us. He dropped my parents off at Vivo (my parents punya tempat dating. I don’t know whyyyyyy they love Vivo so much) before we headed off to Jurong West just in time for my guy bestfriend, Taufiq’s nikah.

Congratulations Taufiq & Amiliah! Wishing you both lots of joy and happiness for this very special day! Enjoy the moments as long as possible. Don’t miss any part of it. Masih tak percaya that he is now a married man. We got to know each other when i was 16 which is 9 years ago. And they say, friendship that stays for more than 7 years will last for a lifetime. In shaa Allah. Amin. Hope in the future we can have a family outing together with our kids. Lol! Totally cannot imagine lah!

Today pulak, i have another wedding to attend. My fiancè’s cousin got married today. Let me tell you, my fiancè has a hugeeeee family just like me. Every year mesti ade his cousin yang nak kahwin. Next year will be Hafriz’s in October & then followed by ours in December. Heh. Looking at all those pretty decors really make me tak sabar nak kahwin. Talking about that, this week only i have seen 2 decors by SMR wedding. Super grand & super cantik nak mampos okay! The one that was held near to my block was so prettttay. Ala ala garden theme wedding. Cantik sangat. And just now i went to my fiancè’s cousin’s wedding & they also engaged SMR wedding. Just look at the dais.

Very vava voom kan?! Huge dais simply perfect for huge family! My theme will definitely be either white or pastel colors. Still deciding. And my future parents in law decided to ask the owner of SMR whether they still have slots for our wedding date, and yup! They do. 1 last slot! Alhamdulillah. My fiancè have been wanting to engage SMR for his side. I pulak okay go jer. So in shaa Allah SMR it is for our sanding on the 6th. Oh not only the decor is nice eh, their service & food is tip top lah! Baaaaanyak sangat varieties. Boleh duduk 2 jam kat situ untuk makan je eh. Haha. Melampau aku!

As for my side, my parents dah ade our own family caterer to engage. Since they’re sponsoring the food, i pun okay go je lah. I really trust my parents bab bab makan ni. They are very particular when it comes to food.

Ooookay enough about wedding, finally get to meet this bam bam, Shah Raiyan just now!

And lastly, photo with my fiancè’s paternal cousins. That’s it for now. Back to work tomorrow & appointment with Peti Solek on Tuesday. HEHEHE. I is sungguh tak sabar. Hopefully i can seal a package with them!

Wedding Update : FifthDecemberTwentyFifteen

Ahamdulillah. We finally managed to confirm our wedding date last 2 days when his family came over for our last kopek Raya. So we’ve decided to have 2 full day event.

5th December 2015 : Nikah/Sanding at my place.

6th December 2015 : Sanding at his place.

Initially memang we planned to have only 1 day event (to save cost of course) tapi both of us come from a huge family. Our parents both ade more than 10 siblings. Tak ke ramai tu?! Ni belum include our cousins & their respective children. Furthermore both of us ni staying 1 end to the other end. Im at Simei whereas my tunang ni at Jurong. 1 day event is totally not for the both of us lah. So daripada at the of the day nanti parents gaduh & guests complain tk sempat jumpa pengantin, we shall sacrifice our moneyyyy and do a 2 full day event. Don’t really mind as long as both our parents are happy & satisfied even though kocek kita crying. Lol!

Okay lah. I don’t think its going to be that bad. We just have to fork out double on bridal, photography & kompang. Thats about it kan?

Anyways, made an appointment with De’Mure Weddings this coming Friday & in shaa Allah with Peti Solek this coming 2nd Sept (have yet to receive confirmation email. Hopefully they reply soooon ah). I’ve really set my eyes on Peti Solek. Really. Their latest purple songket is so jambu nak mampos eh.

Tak dapat Yaya Yusoff to doll me up pun its okay lah. The new MUA won’t be that bad kan? Haha. Saja nak sedapkan hati sendiri. Cannot explain this feeling lah. Love at first sight already. No matter how many bridals i browse through, i keep coming back to Peti Solek. My tunang pulak psl tanjak cerewet to the maximum. Tapi nasib baik he’s also in love with their men’s collection. Kira satu balak dah lepas. Lol!

Wedding Update : Dilemma.

I have been waiting for Peti Solek’s reply with regards to my query for almost a month. No, wait. I think more than that. I sent 2 emails, 1 private msg to Yaya Yusoff & 1 whatsapp to them. But no reply. I was feeling so agitated seh. I suke sangat with their baju collection & i think Yaya Yusoff’s magical touch really suits her outfits tau. So last 2 days, i cannot hold it in anymore lah. Nak sangat kan, so i have to do something about it. I rang Peti Solek up. And then again, my call was left unanswered. Hampa gila okay. So i assume memang tkde jodoh lah dengan dorang.

Few minutes later, Peti Solek returned my call. I was so happy macam nak nangis. Haha. So drama! I have been wanting to get in touch with them for so long seh. So i asked the caller whether they still have slots for my wedding date, and she said yes, they have 1 more slot left. Itu part lagi happy macam nak lompat bawah. Really!! Padahal belum book eh dah excited macam ape. Baru setakat enquire. Lol! So i asked her usually how many wedding they take per week and she told me 3. So i was wondering, Peti Solek ni is run by 2 sisters. Macam mana boleh ade lagi 2 sots eh?

Then i got to know that they are expanding and currently there’s 2 new MUA tengah under training with Yaya Yusoff. And that 2 new MUA will only start their wedding assignment next year. Fuh, hati hancur retak seribu seh. Yaya Yusoff is already fully booked for next year! Crazy or what?! Hais.

Yang buat i dilemma gilerrrrrr sekarang is should i just sign up with them or go for other bridal? I really love their outfits BUT im afraid that i don’t like the new MUA’s make up style. How now brown cow? Will there be any portfolio from the new MUA before i decide to engage them? Someone enlighten me please.

Wedding Update : ESA Wedding Gallery.

I have yet to blog about the vendor that i chose for my post-wedding photoshoot. Yes,  my tunang is very conservative. He prefers having a post-wedding shoot (sebab dah halal so tak kisah nak peluk ke nak kiss or whatever. haha!) rather than pre-wedding shoot. Besides, macam tak manis if we were to show our photoshoot photos to the parents especially when it was taken before nikah. Like you imagine eh, tengah flip flip pages sekali ade gambar tgh kiss kiss dekat mulut. Tak ke krik krik nanti. Lols!

Okay anyways, during the Raya bazaar few months back at Expo, i was there with my mum. Our plan was to jalan-jalan tengok baju Raya but sadly all the baju there was super ugly please. Really lor. Kalau kasi free pun, i wouldn’t wanna wear. Its that ugly. Haha. So there were 2 bridal vendor there, Signature Bridal & ESA Wedding Gallery. If im not wrong, ESA Wedding Gallery was having a promotion for family shoot and my mum has been wanting to take a family shoot for so so long. And the ones in Singapore is quite pricey lah. Cut the story short, this lady Queenie, approached us to promote their family photoshoot. It was quite cheap eh. $250 for 1 big frame and there’s no limit to the number of family members (tapi agak-agak lah. Takkan nak bawak satu lori datang kan. haha!)

So after Queenie explained about the family photoshoot, i selit daun ah asked about the bridal outdoor photoshoot. Instantly she took out her iPad to show me all the wedding photoshoot they did for their clients. My jaw literally dropped. The photos are so damn gorgeous eh! Its not your typical Botanic Garden, Gardens By The Bay, Parks, Singapore Flyer kinda photos. All the photos were taken at various places in Johor Bahru (yes, since they are a bridal company from JB). THIS IS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT and i know i have to engage them for my photoshoot.

ESA Wedding Gallery

Seriously i cannot wait to get married and head down there to do my post-wedding photoshoot. Hahaha. The prices they offered are so affordable and they even threw in lotsa free items. Suka sangat! Orang gila je tak suka free items. I know they went to places like UK Farm, Desaru and this particular place, i lupa nama dia whereby the surroundings are all architectural buildings. Cantik sangat lah. Obviously i takkan amik UK Farm because i very malu with animals (lol!). So i was thinking in choosing both Desaru & that architectural buildings area.

Without much hesitation, i made $100 deposit so that i can secure the package they offered at that moment. Balik je, terus i discussed with my tunang. He was hesitant at first cos its a JB based bridal company kan. But after i brought him down to the booth the very next day, member terus agree la siol. Hahaha. Besides the fact that their photos are so gorgeous & their price which are so affordable, they are also a bunch of super duper friendly people. i like! Plus point.

Chop chop, another $400 deposit and the package is ours. Yay!

Photography & Videography.

Okay, so besides having a good mak andam, having a good photographer & videographer also plays a huge role in a wedding. Well at least to me lah. What’s the point of engaging a top notch bridal but in the end the photos doesn’t show justice kan? It all defeats the purpose seh. Like come on, photos are the only thing that you can keep as a memory of your wedding. You wouldn’t want to keep flipping the album pages and all you see is your ugly shots. Bleargh.

Ni lagi satu yang buat aku bukan pening lalat lagi, ni dah pening gajah okay. I don’t really have a specific photographer that i want in mind. Hais. I just want my photos to turn out pretty (like duh!), special moments are captured perfectly and most importantly, photos must not be over edit. Like seriously, i’ve come across photographer that did too much editting, sharpening to his photos that makes it look so fake. Mak tak suka. So definitely they are out from my choice. Another thing, i don’t know how important videography is for a wedding. For me photography is already enough lah. Not like im a video-friendly person. haha. Anyways, that shall be put into consideration.

After much browsing (yes, i did ALOT of browsing through FBs every single day!), i have decided to narrow down my choices to these (not in any order):

I simply love love all their shots & editting. Very natural. Not too over. After sorting out in that order kan, i still think i like Bliss Photocinema the most ah! How like that? Macam dah love at first sight tau. Think should just go with my instinct ah. Lol. So much of being indecisive. My tunang is going to kill me. I’ve been changing my decision every seconds. Haha.

Tak tahu lah. I always have this feeling like if i were to put deposit on certain vendor, i will regret and will want another. Okay okay. I think the best is kalau i dah put deposit, i should just unfollow/delete/block other vendors from my FB/IG and whatsnot la so i won’t want to keep changing my mind.

Bridals. Bridals. Bridals.

I have started asking around for package prices from various Bridal, Deco & Photography. About makan, i leave it to my parents to handle. Since they’re the ones who gonna sponsor the catering for me kan. HEHE.

So right now im having so much difficulties choosing a bridal for my wedding. Too many to choose from. Of course i nak nampak cantik during my wedding day. And by “nampak cantik” it means the make up has to be perfect & neat (especially the eyebrows part. i am very very very particular about this); not too thick mcm wayang pekji & the bajus have to be up-to-date. I’ve seen bridals with super orbit bajus eh. I have some bridals in mind just that i ni very gatal go look see look see other bridals sampai lah i myself cannot make any decision. So here are my choices for andaman. Not in any particular order.

1) De’Mure Weddings – Besides the fact that their package is very affordable, the make up by Kak Ratna pun very cantik. I read her make up guru was Fatimah Mohsin. What can possibly go wrong if the guru is FM right?! Furthermore, I first fall in love with them when i saw one of my IG friend, Joan, engaged De’Mure for her wedding. She looks super stunning eh or maybe Joan herself is already naturally beautiful lah 🙂

2) Chantique The Bridal Gallery – They have super gorgeous sanggul lintang. Okay talking about sanggul lintang, i don’t really fancy having those heavy metals on my head. I know i know its such a waste kalau tak don that sanggul lintang but what to do? Im prone to having dizziness/headache and whatsnot. Haha. Thus i don’t want to take the risk and menyusahkan diri sendiri on my wedding day. I want to be as comfortable as possible. Anyways, you also can choose from their exclusive collection without any additional fee. Best kan?! You only have to top up $500 on top of your package price if you want Abg Zul to do the make up.

3) Fatimah Mohsin – This one right here i don’t need to introduce. Who doesn’t know FM must be living under the rocks. Dah gila ke ape tak kenal FM?! She’s the diva in make up/bridal industry okay! Her collections are super duper gorgeous and her make up, tak payah ckp lah. Cantik sangat! But the prices so over my budget and i can only dream in engaging them for my wedding 😦

4) Ishq by Nora Zee – i suka sangat with all her baju collection. Very up-to-date. And look at her make up. So flawless! I think Kak Nora Zee has magical hands lah. Mak approved! Ah you see that small sanggul (is that even called a sanggul? Sebarang hembus je aku ni)? Yang itu i can consider, at least it doesn’t look so heavy on my head. Lol! She even do collaboration with Mimpi Kita, Innai Red and other well-known Malaysian designers for her collection. I have been raving to my tunang on how much i adoreeeee Innai Red’s bridal collection and how i wish i could engage them for my wedding. So i was so happy when i stumbled upon Ishq from Kahwin Khronicles blog.

5) Lyanaz Bridal Gallery – i engaged them for my engagement and Kak Yatee was the one who did my make up for that day. Super love my eyebrows lah. Very natural. Kak Yatee is so friendly. i suka! Their prices also very affordable. You can get like what? 4 outfits for $2k? Cukup affordable la tu! And that package includes Pak Andam, Classic manicure/pedicure, henna by Pesona Belle & complimentary hand bouquet.

6) Versari Ade – They have va va voom collection. Serious! Even those yang pakai hijab look absolutely stunning! Love their intricate details on the hijab. You know some andaman really have super simple tudung look for their hijab bride. But this one is really very beautiful.

7) Peti Solek – They carry in modern, simple yet stunning outfits. The make up done by the 2 sisters, Yaya & Yana Yusoff is so neat lah please. Can’t even find any fault while browsing through their photos. Price wise im not really sure as im still waiting for their reply to my emails.

So you see, how to make up my mind like that? Obviously, FM is out of my choice. Over budget la you alls. And currently De’Mure pulak is having a promotion; $1.5k for 3 pairs of outfits. Tak menggila tu? So any reviews for De’Mure? It would really help me in making my decision. As for my tunang pulak, dia simple je “Anything la b. I ikot je ape you nak. For bridal part, i leave it to you to decide”. Fun or what?! Definitely not lor.

The beginning of NFMA wedding journey.

I have been contemplating on whether i should set up a blog for my wedding preps or not. I. LOVE. BLOGGING. Always have and always will but i can’t seem to find time to blog nowadays (i used to be a hardcore blogger during my teenage years. Lol)

Anyways, back to the main reason why i started blogging again. While browsing through for kahwin-kahwin matters, i came across sooooo many blog written by the BTBs sharing their reviews on andamans, decos & everything that has got to do with kahwin. So i was kinda inspired lah nak start my own story gitu. Hopefully tak semangat seminit! Now that i managed to steal some time off work (my engineers & bosses not in. Dorang pergi holiday) so i have time to blog freely.

So where do i start seh?

Ah yes, back to the day we got engaged. From 31st May 2014 up till now, i have yet to finalise my wedding date which is going to be in December, next year. NEXT YEAR tau, Not next 2 years. Actually its more to our parents who still have not decide the date (yes till today, this very moment, we still don’t have an exact date). Macam nak nangis please. Slots are mostly fully booked for 2015 and im afraid that i could not get myself the andaman choice that i want. So kalau semua andaman of my choice are fully booked, who to blame? (Look at my parents, heh!)
