Its been a year..

Hello BTBs & BDBs (Bride Dah Basi. Lol)! Its been almost a year since my last entry.

*Wipes off dusts & spider webs*

So what happened the past year? Well.. my husband made me pregnant. Hahaha. It was totally unplanned & unexpected. I didn’t expect to get pregnant so fast because i have an irregular period since young & i have read somewhere that women who go through that will likely to get pregnant easily. But Alhamdulillah, HE is indeed the best planner. I am so thankful for this rezeki HE has given me.

I found out i was pregnant on 27th March 2016, when we came back from our basi honeymoon. That explains why i was feeling so lethargic throughout my trip at Korea. By then, im already into my 8th week pregnancy. Which means my baby is made in Singapore. Hahaha.

My feelings upon seeing this? Of course happy gilaaaa. Macam tak percaya. Cos the first time i tested, it was negative. And i was so disappointed. Hahaha. Padahal its only the first test. Kentalan buah lychee betul.

Then we set an appointment with a gynae at KKH to confirm the pregnancy. And this is the first ultrasound.

At that point of time, still macam tak percaya that i am really pregnant. There’s a human growing inside of me. I am going to be a mother soon just as im about to settle being a wife.

Both our families are so estatic upon hearing the news. Maklum lah.. cucu first from both side.

3 months passed and its about time we find out the gender of our baby. My husband wants a boy whereas i’ve always wanted a girl. But then again, we don’t really mind the gender as long as it is growing healthily.

During the detailed scanning, our sonographer confirmed its a … BOY! My husband was so happy i tell you. I still couldn’t believe it that im going to be a mother soon.

Anyways, to cut the story short…

Alhamdulillah. My son, Muhd Zaim Eijaz Bin Mohd Asraf was born on 6th November 2016 at 1652hours. Weighing 3.18kg & 49cm long. The 12 hours labour story to be shared on another day lah. Hahaha.

2 months has passed & i am still digesting the fact that i am already a mummy now. And you know whats the best “push” gift i got from my husband? His tears of joy. My husband NEVER really shows his emotion. Not even when i told him im pregnant (i was expecting him to cry in joy when i announced my pregnancy. But he didn’t. Boring. Haha) And what’s our first reaction when the baby was out? We both cried. Sumpah cengeng nak mampos! Dah macam hari raya.

Review 10 : WonderPikcher

Now before i go on my honeymoon (pengantin dah basi baru nak pergi honeymoon you alls 😝), i shall update on my last but not least vendor, WonderPikcher (previously known as Danego Photography).

As some of you know, i changed my photographer 3 months prior to my wedding day & although i had to forego my $500 deposit with my previous vendor, i honestly did not regret my crazy decision because i love every single shots of my wedding photos. Photographers assigned to me were Shahdan (the owner of WonderPikcher) & Azmi, his assistant.

On my wedding day, Shahdan was deployed to my location whereas Azmi was at my husband’s side. Let me tell you, they were so punctual. In fact, they reached earlier than the expected time. I was only 1/2 hour into make up when i received a text from Shahdan saying that he has reached my void deck & were then taking details of my decor. Punctuality & efficiency, i kasi 5 star. And even though he was already done with the decor shoots, he did not even once rush my MUA.

Both Shahdan & Azmi gave directions well on how to pose. Maklum lah.. Nama aje suka amik gambar, tapi bila suruh pose, aku terus jam, don’t even know how to pose lovey dovey. Lol.

Also the photos did not take long to be ready! Collected our album 6 weeks after the wedding…

This post shall be the closure to my #nfxmaweds. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to all vendors that were involved in my wedding. Please forgive me & my family if there were any shortcomings from our side. You guys were awesome awesome awesome! May your business prosper. In shaa Allah, amin.

With this also, i would like to end my blogging journey here. Hehehe. So lazy to update my blog already! Nevertheless, i will still log in to kaypo about korang nye wedding preps! Shout out to my #teamBTBkecoh #BTBsupportgroup, thank you for the friendship made through my wedding blog! Love love love you girls.

And to those yang in the midst of preparing your wedding (yang baru nak start, yang dah halfway there & yang almost there), it’s not going to be easy but ITS GONNA BE WORTH IT! I shall not say “enjoy your wedding preps cos you will definitely miss it once the wedding is over” because it is so cliche & honestly i memang tak enjoy langsung my wedding preps. Lol. Just good luck & fighting!

Sometimes people get so caught up in the wedding machine, what they don’t realise is that TWO things last : THE PICTURES & THE NEW FAMILY RELATIONSHIP.

Review 9 : Peti Solek – The Bridal Room

THIS IS ONE OF THE VENDORS THAT I NEVER REGRET CHOOSING DESPITE THE HEFTY PRICE I HAVE TO PAY SINCE MY WEDDING EVENT WAS HELD ON 2 FULL DAYS. THAT MAKES A TOTAL OF 5 OUTFITS OF WHICH 2 OF MY OUTFITS WERE FROM THE ROYAL DAHLIA COLLECTION.

THEY ARE SO WORTH MY MONEYYYY!

The MUA assigned to me was Wanie. And she did an ah-maaaaa-zing job! Mad love for my make-up on both days. This woman really got the skills.  I was actually contemplating on whether to proceed with PSTBR or not since Yaya is not going to be my MUA, but i am glad that i went with my guts. Wanie, KAU MEMANG AWESOME POSSUM! Thank you for making me a glowing bride (everyone love love love your touch!) & for taking care of us for that 2 days.

And to the rest of PSTBR team, Qee & Cik Majid, THANK YOU FOR LAYAN-ING OUR KARENAH DURING THE FIRST & FINAL FITTING!

Review 8 : Catering & AirbatuSG

Cik Amir Catering

Cik Amir has been cooking for all my married cousins eversince i was in primary school lagi. And his food memang sedap gila. Semua cukup rasa! I got so much good reviews with regards to all the dishes on my reception day. My neighbour (whom i rarely talk to even though we bump into each other a lot!) even came up to me on the day itself just to tell me this “I’ve been to many malay weddings & your wedding has the best dishes!” Alhamdulillah.

And with the variety of food that he gave me, he charged me with a price that i don’t think other vendor would willing to give. I even mintak tukar some menu (goreng pisang, teh tarik) & was already prepared to pay extra but end of majlis, he just told me “takpe.. Awak bayar yg balance mcm biasa je. Takde extra” MasyaAllah, he is so kind. Thank you Cik Amir for playing the biggest role in my wedding & ensure that my guests get to enjoy your delicious dishes! May Allah bless you  & may your business prosper. Amin!

Hadila & Liyana definitely put a smile on everyone’s faces with their old school air batu! And my favourite has got to be the Thai Milk Tea 😋 Huge fan of thai ice tea here. Thank you ladies for being part of my wedding! Continue putting smiles on everyone faces & i wish you girls success in your business.

SMR Catering

My husband engaged SMR for his reception & who doesn’t know SMR seh? Very popular with their “air pasar malam”. I don’t think i need to even talk so much about SMR. From their food to the decor to the entertainment, everything was amazing!

Madly in loveeee with our dais for Sunday’s reception 😍 It definitely comes with a price but it was so worth it. If anyone of you is being invited to a wedding that engaged SMR, please makan sampai pengsan guys. Their food memang banyak gilaaaa & sedap gilaaaa. Thank you Kak Radiah & Abg Samran for feeding our guests with your delicious food!

 

Vendor 7 : Akrab Kompang

Well i guess i don’t have to say much about this vendor right here cos all of you know how amazing Akrab Kompang is. But truth to be told, i was kinda disappointed with the group that played during my reception. I feel like there’s something missing in their performance. The feeeel is not there seh.

And the group that came over during my husband’s reception was so much better. So much energy & and i literally went “aaahhh.. THIS is Akrab Kompang”. Though they promised a minimum of 12 players, on both days, less than 12 actually turned up but i shall not dwell on that. It doesn’t even break my wedding & i definitely enjoyed their performance.

Overall this is also another vendor that i don’t regret choosing. Thank you guys for being part of my wedding!

Vendor 6 : HeyZee Entertainment

Criterias i look for in a DJ is someone who

1. Doesn’t play heartbroken songs at a wedding
2. Doesn’t make lame jokes
3. Knows how to entertain the guests when bride & groom are not around
4. And most importantly, doesn’t behave like monkeys (trust me, i’ve seen some yg nak step gerek sangat smpai perangai monyet semua terkeluar)

And i found all that in HeyZee entertainment. Abg Zaid is very professional in carrying out his duty as a DJ. Not only that, he also has his assistant to capture our wedding reception. Which means i have 2 sets of wedding photos! How awesome.

Dah tu takpe, he also got us a wedding gift. Alahai, thank you so much HeyZee Entertainment & team.

Thank you for being part of our wedding. And thank you for going an extra mile for us!

Vendor 5 : Wedding Cake

This beautiful cake above (beautifully captured by Wonder Pikcher) is my wedding cake baked by friend’s mom, Cik Zahara Dahari . Other than her affordable rate (super affordable i tell you), liaising with her was so smooth. Showed her an example and she did the magic.

I opted for cake-in-jars for the base so that its easier for us to distribute at the end of the event. The cake pulak is moist & not too sweet. Simply love it! Definitely recommended!

On a brighter note, we have received our official photos from Wonder Pikcher. Im saving the last few reviews for the vendors that i splurge so much on & did not regret a single bit!

Vendor 4 : Cherriesmitten

I am never a fan of flowers. I don’t even know how to appreciate them. So when it comes to choosing hand bouquet for my wedding, i leave it entirely up to my vendor. I told Izyan i wanted a bouquet that can match all my 5 outfits & she came up with this..

Love it! But sadly the flowers couldn’t last till the next day when it supposed to be used for my 2 days reception (because of my negligence. Haha. Told you i don’t even know how to care for them even for a night!) So i ended up walking down the isle at the groom’s side holding the almost dead bouquet of flowers which then i decided to just go through the day without any bouquet of flowers.

Vendor 3 : Adornedsg

I love how Ameerah’s artwork is so neat & clean. And her stain, after leaving the henna on for almost 15 hours, is so gorgeous! Its deep red & lasted for 3 weeks. I still have some stains on my feet now. And this is one of the vendors that i highly recommend. She’s not only friendly, she is also not calculative with her work.

Like for eg; she did minimal henna for all 4 of my bridemaids & henna on the nails for my mom, and she only charged me for 1 person! How generous.

Just look at this artwork she did for my BMs.

So neat, clean & pleasing to the eyes! Me approve!

Vendor 2 : Gift Trays

I was not particular in my gift trays. Chose our theme color (cream songket for him & dusty pink for me) & leave it to the experts from Hocus Pocus Events to beautify our barang dulang. And the outcome? It’s simply amazing. Clean & simple just the way i like it.
